Abstract

Home industry that produces crackers, the process of draining the oil when the crackers are finished frying is still done traditionally, this is considered less than optimal. In addition to taking a longer time and causing the oil content of the crackers to be relatively high, it causes the crackers to be less durable. This thesis aims to design an oil filter machine on crackers to get results in the form of working drawings and determine the components of the oil filter machine on crackers. One of the systems used is using an automatic rotary system using an electric motor and the transmission using a pulley and V-belt that utilizes centrifugal force so that it is able to carry out optimal oil drainage with better results compared to conventional methods. The results of this thesis are in the form of a design or design of an oil filter machine on crackers with engine specifications, namely engine length 600 mm, engine width 600 mm, engine height 800 mm, main tube diameter 400 mm, and main tube height 472 mm, and the size of the rotary tube diameter. 380 mm and the height of the swivel tube is 322 mm. This machine has a capacity of 4 kg in one oil draining process and takes approximately 20 minutes so that if calculated every hour, the machine is capable of draining 12 kg of crackers. The motor power used has a capacity of 1 kW, with a motor rotation of 1420 rpm and a rotary tube rotation of 548 rpm with a transmission system in the form of a V-belt measuring 1245 mm or 49 inches long, while the size of the pulley on the main shaft is 196 mm and the pulley on the motor shaft is 76 mm. The diameter of the main shaft used is 25 mm.
