PERANCANGAN MESIN PENGIRIS BAWANG MERAH KAPASITAS 100 KG/JAM UNTUK HOME INDUSTRY DI DESA SAWOJAJAR KECAMATAN WANASARI KABUPATEN BREBES

Abstract

The background of this research occurs because the shallot harvest in Sawojajar Village, Brebes Regency, which occurs simultaneously in every June. This results in a buildup of shallots which results in onions being processed for too long so that it can cause spoilage of shallots. There is a red onion chopper house that is still manual and a machine will be made with the aim of increasing the selling value of shallots while reducing the abundant stock of shallots. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to design a profitable machine with data taken from farmers directly and then calculated in terms of construction and profit potential so that this machine will be accepted by the people of Brebes. After doing economic calculations and construction, this machine is safe to use with a safety factor of 2 to 6 and a potential profit of Rp. 1,642/kg, so it is certain that it will benefit onion farmers and the onion slicing house industry.
